1940 Mercury Convertible Super Deluxe
1940 Mercury convertibles are extremely rare in the industry and this one is all steel including the running boards. The body panels seem to fit well with shaved door handles. It also has been nosed and decked. It also has custom pin striping, remote trunk, and door and hood openers. The paint seems to be fairly nice for a movie car.
The car features a two tone grey leather combination with maroon accents in the interior compartment as well as a custom console. Custom gauges on a simple dash panel appears to be clean in appearance with air conditioning. Power windows and tilt steering column are some of the upgrades. Also a fully detailed trunk compartment.
It is powered by a 383 stroke engine mated to a general motors 400 transmission. The air cleaner is very interesting as it looks like the engine is injected. It even has a fuel pressure gauge for that detailed look. No mention to the details of the chassis. One would think it is stock frame with some modern components like Heidts front end, power steering, and power disc brakes.
A 1940 Mercury convertible is pretty rare and certainly will not hurt the sale of this car even if it is painted in strawberry with a maroon convertible top.
