1948 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible
This classically customized 1948 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible is a unique creation from the fertile mind of Hollywood’s King of the Customizers George Barris. When it comes to celebrity car builds, even the worst of cars can bring big money!
The body was channeled over the frame to bring the look of the car low. Lowering the suspension and chopping the windshield frame and convertible top over 2 inches was the thing to do back then, which helps make the car appear even lower. The custom front fenders were fitted with 1959 Chevrolet Impala headlights, and there are other body modifications to the hood and the trunk area.
The interior received the Barris touch with a newer Cadillac Eldorado dash board. The interior looks a little worn with its custom poncho covering in need of some patch work.
Overall, this Barris built custom Cadillac is a little worn and really needs some attention. However just having the Barris “Kustom Kulture” name plate should bring a good price. If one were to do the body modifications at today’s labor rates, you could expect to spend tens of thousands.
