MG (Morris Garages) had been manufacturing great little sports cars in England prior to World War II. Production ceased in 1939, and as the war was brought to a close, MG sensed a need to fill the vacuum created by Britain’s six years at war. The TC model started production in 1945 and the sports car craze in America got underway. 10,000 of these great little cars were built during the production run of 1945 through 1949. As GI’s returned to America, passing through England on the way home, they discovered these very neat cars, and the floodgates were opened as the flow of great English sports cars to the USA started.
This TC has been lovingly cared for by a Southern California family over the last 20 years, and is ready for its next owner. Very good runner, in uncommon but stunning navy blue over biscuit leather. Paint and chrome condition is very good, with some minor wear and scratches in common locations.
Electrical components all work as intended. Body structure is very solid and exhibits no flex in rear quarters. This is a great start! Most of these cars have big troubles with body panels and electrical which seems to be fine on this car. The one big cost will be to find the big bumpers that have been misplaced and cannot be located. Be careful. You can certainly put more money in the car than it is worth.
