1959 Cadillac Eldorado Seville 2-Door Hardtop
This car was previously owned by Hank Williams Jr. the hall of fame country singer. Super Rare Double special order car! Special ordercodes for interior and exterior which included: 1958 Cadillac Dakota Red instead of the orangey new Seminole Red that was new for the 1959 Cadillac line. The interior was also a special order that requested black and white which was not an Eldorado color combo. The car has documentation from the GM archives which is the best documentation one can have when willing to shell out the big money this car should bring.
There were many standard options on the Eldorado that included: power brakes, power steering, a 345-horsepower 390 cubic inch V8 engine with three two-barrel carburetors, and Hydra-Matic Drive. Standard comfort and convenience equipment included a heater, fog lamps, air suspension, electric door locks, a radio with a rear-mounted speaker, power windows, power vent windows, a six-way power front seat and a remotely operated trunk lid. This Eldorado is also equipped with three of the four factory-available options – air conditioning, E-Z Eye glass and the Autronic-Eye. Other options are the factory style side moldings and wire wheels making this car drivable to many events in style and comfort.
Although this Eldorado was originally equipped with Cadillac’s innovative but troublesome air suspension, it has been removed in favor of conventional coil springs for ease of operation. The tri-power carburation looks to have been removed also and disc brake conversion has been installed. An alternator has been installed which is a huge benefit from the standard generator. The parts that are missing can be found and reinstalled to the car with a price. However if you are looking for a nice car that you can drive with this kind of celebrity background why bother! Drive and enjoy without the hassles!
With a total of only 975 Cadillac Eldorado’s built in 1959, it appears that only one was built with these options and famous Hank Williams Jr. owner history!
