1960 Nash Metropolitan
Lucky Car Collector Auctions, August 29th
Now this is a really nice restoration. Someone really loves this car to have spent so much on such a small car. This has to be one of the finest restorations I have seen on one of these. The cost to restore has to be in the $40,000 area.
This Nash Metropolitan is finished in a two tone Caribbean Blue/Frost White and looks extremely nice! The fit and finish shows well. The interior is black with white and looks to be finished in the correct style and materials. Someone spent a lot of time to get this as correct as possible.
The engine bay is highly detailed including the inner fender wells being as high gloss as the outside of the car. Claims of only 38,863 original miles on the complete car is impressive. The highly detailed engine is a 1500ci 4-cylinder motor with a 3-speed manual transmission. Someone spent some time making this look this nice!
Doing the math on this little beauty is not the cost of the car as they can be purchased pretty cheap. The cost of the restoration is the cost on this car. “Small car big budget.” Paint $8,000, Chrome $3,000, Interior with high gloss painting on dash and other panels $5,000. As you can see we are approaching $20,000 and we have not included any suspension work, rubber seals, or rebuilding cost. For sure this could be a $40,000 restoration.
