1962 Chevrolet Corvette Custom Convertible
The drive train is a 1998 Corvette engine with Pro-charger supercharger kit and integrated custom 3″ front-mount intercooler system. The chassis has C4 Corvette suspension on all four corners, rack & pinion steering and a Dana 44 rear end with 3.07 gears. The brakes are upgraded to C6 Calipers and rotors with Stop-tech stainless brake lines. The car sports a brand-new flywheel and upgraded clutch to handle the power, a T56 6-speed transmission that shifts flawlessly through a new short-throw shifter and had a custom driveshaft crafted and balanced.
The interior has also been customized with a chrome steering column with tilt, smaller but original-looking steering wheel, new chrome horn cap, black seats with Alcantara inserts and red stitching on original seat frames with new foam. Ice-cold air conditioning and heat are provided by a custom Vintage Air system mated with the new GM air conditioning compressor. A one-off center console, painted and clear-coated black, which houses the Billet A/C controls, vent, touchscreen stereo system with GPS, CD player, back-up camera and iPod hook up.
These pro-touring custom Corvettes are becoming more popular and the cost to build has become the norm to be a couple hundred thousand considering the cost of a core car you can even spend more than that.
