Orange County Classics
Mecum Auctions will be visiting Orange County, California November 17-19 at the Anaheim Convention Center. There will be an estimated 750 American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, hot rods, resto mods and more crossing the auction block.
Among the main attractions is a pair of 1968 Pontiac Firebirds featuring the rare Ram Air option. The first, a 1968 Pontiac Firebird Ram Air I (Lot S93, mentioned above), is one of only 92 automatics built that year, and the second, a 1968 Ram Air II (Lot S92), is one of 110 made. Other headliners include a 1957 Ford Thunderbird E-Code (Lot S98) and a 1969 Shelby GT500 Fastback (Lot S102) equipped with the 428 SCJ Drag Pack.
Among the other auction consignments is a custom-built, California-classic 1959 Cadillac Coupe Deville (Lot S95) with an LS3 V8 engine that underwent a complete frame-off restoration in 2011, as well as a 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air Resto Mod (Lot S105) with an LS1 engine and fewer than 1,500 miles driven since its rotisserie restoration. Among the “no reserve” consignments is a red 2006 Ford GT (Lot S104) with 2,500 miles with a six-speed manual transmission.
