The Automotive Night Before Christmas
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the shop,
not an engine was stirring, not even a pop.
The wrenches were hung by the tool box with care,
in hopes that St. Parts Guy soon would be there.
The classics were nestled all snug in their sheds,
While visions of manifolds danced in their headers.
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the creeper to see what was the matter.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a miniature street rod, and eight tiny cylindeers.
With a little old driver, so lively and fly,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Parts Guy.
More rapid than turbos his coursers they came,
he honked, and revved, and called them by name;
“Now, Pacer! Now, Dodge! Now, Plymouth and Mini!
On, Comet! On Packard! And the red Lamborghini!
Now peel away! Peel away! Peel away all,”
his bundle of parts, saves us trips to the mall.
He sprang to his whip, to his team gave a whistle,
then hit the gas and took off like a missile.
I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
“Muffler Christmas to all, and to all a good-night.” – MB & PS
